(MONTGOMERY, ALABAMA) – State Representative Blaine Galliher today officially qualified with the Alabama Republican Party for re-election in District 30, which includes parts of Etowah and St. Clair Counties.  He signed the paperwork and paid the qualifying fee in Montgomery at the RSA Plaza in Montgomery around 10:30am this morning.  The House Republican Caucus has unanimously endorsed Rep. Galliher for re-election as a result of his role on the Caucus Steering Committee and his leadership in pushing for conservative values and ideals in the Legislature.

“There is nothing more satisfying than knowing you have been able to help people, and that is what I get to do on a daily basis as a state representative.  It is an honor to be trusted by the people of my district who know I have worked hard to improve the quality of life in Etowah and St. Clair Counties,” said Rep. Blaine Galliher.

“I am seeking re-election because for the past sixteen years I have made improving education, recruiting industry and retaining jobs in the district my main focus.  However, to keep up with the changing times, I want to continue to move all our schools and classrooms into the 21st Century to give our children the tools and skills they need to compete in the global marketplace,” Mr. Galliher commented.  “A good education today means they will have better access to higher-paying jobs when they enter the workforce,” he concluded.

Rep. Blaine Galliher is a graduate of Jacksonville State University where he received his Bachelors of Science Degree in Technology.  He is the father of two children – Terry and Charlie.  Mr. Galliher attends Chandler Mountain Baptist Church.  Prior to attending college, Blaine served in the US Army between 1968 and 1971.  Representative Galliher is a member at the Gadsden Etowah Chamber of Commerce, the Rainbow City Lions Club and a board member of the Talladega Motorsports Hall of Fame.
