PSA Partner Jack Campbell Selected as New York Times Regional Newspapers‘ “Quote of the Year”

MONTGOMERY, Alabama (January 3, 2012)—New York Times Newspapers regional journalist, Dana Beyerle, cited a quote by Public Strategy Associates senior partner Jack Campbell as the “Quote of The Year” for 2011. In a four-part series on the life and impact of retiring Alabama Education Association’s Dr. Paul Hubbert written by Mr. Beyerle, Campbell said, “I think it would be fair to say while Paul started out taking fingerprints for the FBI, he left his own major one on the political landscape in Alabama.”

Beyerle’s article noted that Hubbert’s first job upon graduation from college was as a fingerprint clerk for the FBI in Washington. Hubbert later furthered his education and went on to serve as a teacher and administrator before joining the Alabama Education Association. The series on Hubbert mentioned his great legislative accomplishments as well as his sphere of influence over the electoral process in the state.

“I have differed with Dr. Hubbert more often than not, but he made an impact on politics for many years,” Campbell said Tuesday after reading his quote had been selected by Mr. Beyerle. “I wish him the best in retirement and know his shoes will be big ones to fill,” he added.

Jack Campbell and his partner Brent Buchanan founded Public Strategy Associates in 2007. Campbell has been involved in Republican campaigns since 1982. Over the years, he worked with and against Dr. Hubbert on legislative issues and in campaigns for various legislative and constitutional elections in Alabama.
